Soletanche Bachy Canada - Hamilton, Ontario

Soletanche Bachy Canada is a global geotechnical solutions provider with its head office located in Hamilton, Ontario. Window film was applied to their new office to help with solar control and enhance the interior space.

The Challenge

In 2020, the Soletanche Bachy Canada team moved from their office of 60 plus years. They went from an office with a dark interior to a new and brighter office building with quite a few exterior windows. The windows offer the benefit of an outdoor view and natural light, but the heat and glare was a problem. The south-facing windows were especially problematic causing some discomfort for the team members due to the sun shining directly into the office.

The Solution

After consulting with Soletanche Bachy Canada, Evolution Window Films recommended 3M Night Vision 15 Solar Control Window Film to help reduce hot spots, glare and UV exposure. Window film was applied to 1,500 square feet including 150 windows of a variety of sizes. Since the office was already furnished and in operation, the window film was pre-cut off-site to minimize the installation time.

The Results

The total result achieved, includes 68% rejection of solar energy, 83% glare reduction and 99% UV protection.
